To create, I set the camera (D700) up on a tripod in interval shooting mode. I then left it to take a photo every 10 seconds over approximately 3 hours (1027 photos in total).
Each photo:
1/500th sec at f/9, ISO 200. 40mm focal length.
The photos were then imported to Lightroom primarily so that they could be resized down to 640x480 en masse to keep the vidoe file size and processing time to a minimum. The resized photos were joined in a freeware program called Photolapse and output as an avi file at 30fps.
Final step in the process was to use Windows Movie Maker to compress the video from 74mb down to about 5mb.
Not the most efficient process but it works and it's free. I understand that a lot of people use Quicktime Pro to create time lapse videos. I'd like to know how easy it is before I cough up the money to upgrade to Quicktime Pro
