One of the primary reasons for my trip to Alberta was to visit Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Everyone has seen those amazing photos of these two lakes with the beautiful blue water. Unfortunately, I had not done my research so did not know that these lakes do not fully thaw until June/July. As a result, I was a little disappointed to find Lake Louise still mostly frozen (even in late May) as well as Moraine Lake closed altogether. C'est la vie. Still an amazing sight though.
